Rita Murray

Rita M. Murray is a national speaker, educational psychologist, executive coach, C-suite adviser and business owner of Performance Consulting, LLC. Her executive leadership development experience in the energy/oil & gas industry and an energy services client base includes Accenture, Access Midstream, Ascent Resources, Chesapeake Energy, ConEdison, Devon Energy, China National Offshore Oil Company, E.ON, KeySpan Energy, Edison Electric Institute, Northrop Grumman, Linn Energy, National Grid, Orange & Rockland, Pioneer Natural Resources and Wind Energy Constructors.

Dr. Murray’s business career has taken her coast-to-coast and includes 11 years as CEO and Chairman of a national energy services company and board member of multiple subsidiary energy companies. She was also co-founder and chairman for a Hollywood film production company and held leadership roles at GE and Lockheed where her top secret clearances provided unique business insights. She was inspired to build her executive consulting career by Jack Welch during her tenure at GE’s Crotonville, NY campus while engaged in leadership development.

Her specialty is coaching senior leaders who are facing a challenge and/or would like to be more effective or fulfilled in their roles. “Leading through change and uncertainty” is her most-requested leadership program and includes managing relationships with key staff and others, improving team dynamics, transitioning from technical expert to leader, evolving company culture, and better self-care. Her unique leadership development approach also educates leaders on how to stay relevant with social media and social selling tools.

A transplanted Oklahoman, Dr. Murray grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, as a first generation American and is also a dual citizen of Ireland. She completed undergraduate work in Business Administration at the University of Massachusetts. Her Master’s and Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology & Technology from the University of Oklahoma compliment her diverse background and strong leadership experience. She is also the author of several workbooks on generational theory, mentoring across generations, psychological type and emotional intelligence. Dr. Rita brings unique passion, high energy and uncommon commitment to support the objectives of all her clientele.
