Alan C. McIntyre

Alan McIntyre teaches courses in Business Finance (FIN 3303), Financial Intermediaries and Markets (FIN 3403), Commercial Banking (FIN 4413), and has also taught an International Financial Management course for Non-Finance Majors (FIN 3133). He has taught at the University of Oklahoma since 2002.  He earned his undergraduate BBA and graduate MBA degrees in Business Administration majoring in Finance from the University of Houston.

Mr. McIntyre is a committed practicing member of the Oklahoma City metro area business community and supporter of the University of Oklahoma.   He is Owner and Principal of ACM Services Inc., which provides management advisory services to Oklahoma-based business owners and leaders to help them implement and benefit  from best practices in business financial management.  Client companies range from ten to over 200 employees, with $3 million to over $50 million in annual sales.

In 1991 he joined Fleming Companies, Inc., a food wholesale and retail distribution company headquartered in Oklahoma City, where he was employed for ten years. He was Vice President and Treasurer there when it was a Fortune 129 company and the largest publicly-held company in Oklahoma. He was responsible for all Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Cash Management, and Long-Term Financial Planning functions. He led or co-led the creation and execution of 13 public and private major debt and equity financing programs which raised over $6 billion in capital, working with major money center commercial banks, investment banks, and professional institutional investors. After helping to move Fleming’s headquarters to north Dallas, Texas in 2000, Mr. McIntyre started ACM Services Inc. in 2001, which is his own Oklahoma-based consulting practice.

Prior to coming to Oklahoma, Mr. McIntyre worked for seven years in Corporate Finance for Federal Express Corporation, the express delivery transportation company, in its Memphis, Tennessee headquarters.  While at FedEx, he led or co-led 22 private and public financing programs which raised over $4.4 billion in capital to help support the company’s rapid growth.

During graduate school, he joined the Corporate Treasury and Finance group of The El Paso Company in Houston, Texas, where he was employed prior to joining FedEx. The El Paso company was a publicly-held natural gas transmission, exploration and production company and was the predecessor to the current El Paso Corporation.
