The Energy Management degree is offered by only ten universities in North America.  OU’s program was the first of its kind originating in 1958.  Key courses are taught by industry professionals that practice their disciplines on a daily basis sharing real world experiences with the students.

Graduates are expected to find opportunities in the areas of upstream (exploration and production), midstream (gathering systems and pipelines) and downstream (trading and marketing).

Our graduates possess negotiation and commercial acumen skills that are built on a solid combination of selected courses from Management, Accounting, and Finance disciplines. They also have an in depth understanding of the legal environment of an organization as well as the legal aspects of energy exploration, production, and trading. Also most graduates will have worked at least 2 summer internships within the energy industry.

The majority of companies attend the Fall Career Fair held in the middle of September.

In addition, the Energy Management Program hosts an informal event called “Meet the Industry” immediately following the Fall Career Fair.

“Meet the Industry” provides a platform for company representatives to mingle with the students and other companies in a relaxed environment.

The Spring Career Fair is scheduled for the middle of February each year.
