OU ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM RANKS IN THE TOP TWO IN THE NATION AMONG PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES

NORMAN — The Price College of Business entrepreneurship program at the University of Oklahoma ranks in the top two in the nation among public universities, according to ratings released this week by The Princeton Review, an education services company.

“OU is one of only three public universities in the United States to achieve high marks from Businessweek, U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review,” said Daniel Pullin, interim dean of Price College. “Our talented entrepreneurship faculty is providing our students the best possible academic programs and opportunities to help them succeed.”

In The Princeton Review’s rankings, Price College’s undergraduate program moved from No. 10 to No. 6 in just one year, a ranking that consists of both private and public universities throughout the United States. Among public universities, Price College’s entrepreneurship program gained from No. 5 to No. 2 in the same time period.

The College’s graduate program also achieved high ranking of No. 15 overall and No. 7 among public universities.

Jim Wheeler, Stanley White Executive Director of the Center for  Entrepreneurship, said, “We provide a consistent degree of excellence in every program we offer – from our strengths in teaching entrepreneurship business fundamentals in the classroom to our excellence in mentorship and provision of experiential opportunities outside of the classroom, oftentimes in conjunction with college alumni and mentors. This connectivity between faculty, students and alumni, has been key to the national attention achieved by the Price College Center for Entrepreneurship since the program’s inception in 2002.”

Based on surveys sent to school administrators at more than 2,000 institutions from April to June 2013, the lists recognize 50 programs in all — 25 undergraduate and 25 graduate — for their excellence in entrepreneurship education. The Princeton Review has reported these lists annually since 2006 in partnership with Entrepreneur Media Inc., publisher of Entrepreneur magazine.

The Princeton Review chooses the schools based on a range of institutional data it evaluates.
