University of Oklahoma Graduate Student Start-Up Recognized by Global Entrepreneurship Week

Global Entrepreneurship Week

NORMAN – Master of Business Administration student Stephen Soroosh and his startup, Driven Analytics, was recognized as one of Global Entrepreneurship Week’s 50 most innovative startups and as a finalist for the Startup Open competition.

Driven Analytics delivers a mobile application for car owners to download to their smart phones that provides the driver real-time diagnostics specific to their car usage. The venture was formulated by Stephen Soroosh and fellow MBA students Jake Elliott, Mitchell Walser and Rachel Webb.

More than 600 startups from 38 countries entered the competition and were judged on their concept and growth projections for their businesses as well as their knowledge of their industries. Of those that applied, 50 were recognized from 19 countries representing an even more diverse range of industries, including biotechnology, communications, education, energy, entertainment, fashion, finance, health/medical and more.

Mark Roberts, president of Mark Roberts Enterprises and adjunct faculty for the Center for Entrepreneurship at Price College, served as a mentor to the students of Driven Analytics.

“I think it’s incredible that Driven Analytics is being recognized for the technology they bring to the marketplace that has never been delivered before,” said Roberts. “One of the great attributes of OU’s entrepreneurship program, of which Driven Analytics is a part of, is its ability to provide needed capital, be it human capital or financial capital.”

“Driven Analytics completed a rigorous effort to reach this goal as a GEW 50,” said Ron Bolen, an assistant professor of the Price College of Business’s management and entrepreneurship division. “During the course of the team’s classwork, they interviewed no less than 100 potential customer, vendors and market participants in an effort to hone their business model. We are extremely proud of their hard work and recognition.”
