More than 200 current and new members were honored Nov. 15 at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History during the fourth annual Arthur B. Adams Society dinner. Society Chair Mike McConnell, 1982 BBA and president of Jones Energy, served as the evening’s master of ceremonies. Interim Dean Daniel Pullin gave a college update and set the stage for OU President David L. Boren, the evening’s keynote speaker.
Boren, a former Oklahoma governor and U.S. senator, offered his wisdom on the importance of public higher education, the uncertain national funding environment for it, and the meaningful role private supporters must play to ensure top-notch educational opportunities for OU students.
