1. Connie shared the information presented by Nick Hathaway at the Staff Senate meeting regarding the cell phone use policy. Basically OU is bound by state law, which states that employees cannot be loaned money (university paying for cell phone usage up front and the employee reimbursing for the use at a later date) and that state property cannot be utilized for personal purposes. At this point, it is recommended that each employee adhere to departmental cell phone policy. Email comments about the university-wide cell phone policy to Connie, Jackie Farley or Nick.
2. A potential award for recognizing OU staff for work in the community has been suggested to Staff Senate. Please send ideas or suggestions related to this idea to Jackie or Barbara in the Staff Senate Office.
