Regent Bell was appointed by Governor Brad Henry to serve a seven-year term on the OU Board of Regents beginning in 2005. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The University of Oklahoma in 1983 with a bachelor of science with highest honors in microbiology. He then attended the OU College of Medicine, receiving his medical degree with distinction in 1987, and earning membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Bell has practiced ophthalmology at the Oklahoma City Clinic since 1991, where he has served on the Board of Directors since 1997 and as President of the Board since 2002. He has also served as President of the Oklahoma Academy of Ophthalmology, on the College of Medicine Alumni Board and as an assistant clinical instructor in the Health Sciences Center's Department of Ophthalmology. Regent Bell lives in Norman with his wife, Pamela, and their two children.
