Biography

Captain David Jensen was born in Rochester, Minnesota on September 10, 1970. He graduated from high school in 1989. He enlisted in the Army in October of 1990 as an MLRS crew member. He served in A Battery, 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery in Geissen, Germany 1991-1993. Then served in B Battery, 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma 1993-1997. In 1997 he received a Green to Gold Scholarship and attended the University of Central Oklahoma. CPT Jensen graduated and commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery in May 2000. After attending the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sill he was assigned to A Battery, 6th Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery where he served as a Platoon Leader, Supply Officer and Battery Executive Officer. Other Assignments include: Battalion Fire Direction Officer in the 6th Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery 2002-2004, Executive Officer and Training Officer in the Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC) C-3 forward in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait 2005-2006, Battery Commander in the 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery (MLRS) 2006-2008. His most recent assignment was the Field Artillery and Effects Coordinator Advisor on a Military Transition Team (MiTT) for the 15th Brigade, Iraqi Army in Kirkuk, Iraq 2008-2009.

Captain Jensen’s military education includes Army Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Captain’s Career Course and Military Transition Team Training. He has a Bachelors of Science from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Masters of Art from Webster University. His awards include: the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Accommodation Medal (5 awards), the Army Achievement Medal (5 awards), the Army Good Conduct Medal (2 awards), the National Defense Service Medal (2 BS), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, the Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 2), the Army Service Medal and the Overseas Service Medal (numeral 3).

Captain Jensen is married to the former Lisa Barclay of Bartlesville, OK and has one child; their daughter Alyssa. They make their home in Lawton, OK.
