Second Lieutenants Justin Gell and Brendon Hischar cut their cake with a
ceremonial saber following their commissioning. Upon commissioning, cadets
fulfill the ultimate goal of the Army ROTC program: becoming commissioned
officers sworn to "well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office"
they may enter. It is a serious committment - the end of their preparation.
