OU Army ROTC Nurse Cadet Sarah George, left, stands dressed in her "OU"
hospital scrubs as she converses with her grader, Cadet Steven Philpot, right,
about her Operations Briefing that morning. Nurse cadets must undergo the
same training and meet the same standards as all other cadets.
Health care providers are vitally important to our Army, especially during this time of war. Although many think of doctors when they think of Army medicine, they fail to realize that Army nurses play an equally vital role in providing health care to our Soldiers. In addition, nurses are commissioned Officers, receiving benefits equal to or greater than their peers in other Army job fields. Becoming a nurse is hard, but the OU Army ROTC seeks to make it easy by offering a variety of options and benefits to those pursuing their BSN.
Please read this section of our website to learn more about Army nursing. All information presented here has been adopted from a pamphlet entitled "Nurse Cadet Guide" - a product of 13th ROTC Brigade Headquarters.
