The third year of ROTC is perhaps the most demanding of a cadet's career. Expectations and leadership responsibilities increase dramatically, and training becomes much more demanding, focused on light infantry tactics at the small unit level as a template for testing a cadet's leadership abilities. Not only do junior year (MS III) cadets spend substantially more time in the classroom, they also participate in much more field training and perform small unit exercises on a weekly basis.
