November 2007 General Casey Visits OU Army ROTC

General George W. Casey, Jr., the current Army Chief of Staff and former senior coalition commander in Iraq, recently paid an impromptu visit to the OU ROTC Armory. On campus to deliver an address about the state of the ongoing War on Terror, General Casey stopped by to greet the officers, noncommissioned officers, civilian employees, and cadets of the Sooner Battalion, posing for numerous photographs. General Casey also personally gave our battalion Executive Officer, Major Sams, his promotion from Captain to Major. We appreciate that General Casey took time out of his busy schedule to meet with us.
