Alumni Scholarships (more descriptions to follow soon)

University of Oklahoma ROTC program alumni generously offer a wide range of scholarships to qualified cadets. These scholarships are typically merit-based and competitive. They include:

The Colonel Wiltse Scholarship - $1,000.

The McConnell Family Saber and Scholarship - $1,000 and a ceremonial saber.
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize one outstanding Army ROTC cadet at the University of Oklahoma each year. The cadre selects the recipient based upon criteria they establish each year which may include leadership, academic standing, military skills, moral strength, and need.

This scholarship is awarded along with a ceremonial U.S. Army officer saber which symbolizes the values of the Army officer and the personal excellence required to receive the scholarship. The name of each year’s recipient is added to a plaque in the Armory recognizing their achievement.

The scholarship is named in honor of COL and Mrs. Donald W. McConnell and is sponsored and given by LTC (Ret.) and Mrs. Brian W. McConnell through the University of Oklahoma Foundation. The scholarship and saber are typically awarded at the annual Alumni Dinner.

The McConnell family is proud to sponsor this scholarship and humbled by the high caliber of the young men and women receiving it.
