"I am here in Baghdad running missions with Bravo Troop 3/89 CAV 4/10th Mountain Division, which is normally located at Fort Polk. I refit out of Forward Operating Base Loyalty, where I also bumped into Patrick Lindsey with the 82nd Airborne, but I operate out of Combat Outpost Choate next to Sadr City. I am privileged to lead Blue (3rd) Platoon through this 15 month deployment. As a Platoon we run a variety of missions ranging from combat patrols, cordons, raids, and traffic control points to interacting with the local people and local leaders for the purpose intellegence gathering.

With all the training I recieved, I feel that I am very well prepared to do this kind of work. After my commissioning I spent seven months in numerous schools, which included Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) II, Armor Officer Basic Course, Scout Leaders' Course, and Airborne School.

OU Army ROTC grounded me in the operations order, which made me successful at BOLC II and BOLC III. The program taught me troop leading prodedures and mission planning - which are critical skills for an Army Officer. It also linked me with other great cadets, who became great Officers. The cadre and faculty are well-experienced, knowledgable, and do everything within their power to enable the cadets to be successful leaders in the United states Army."
