LTC(R) William A. Hamilton, J.D., Ph.D., Class of 1957

"The best decision I made at OU was to enroll in all four years of the Army ROTC and take a commission as an infantry officer. The best part of that decision was the leadership training I received from a really fine cadre of officers and non-commissioned officers. Some of them had served in World War II, and all of them had served in Korea. Almost anyone can learn the military's methods of instruction and be effective on the teaching platform, but these men could not only talk the talk - they had also walked the walk. I greatly admired them all.

They tought many technical military subjects during those four years; however, through it all, those officers and NCOs were teaching leadership. They were teaching my fellow cadets and I how to lead young Americans in very, very difficult situations. The gift they gave us was priceless, and it lasted a lifetime."
