  • David Bierbach just had a nice book chapter on Audience effects come out.

  • Ingo and Luis received a grant from the OU Research Council to continue working on the life histories of population hybrids between surface and cave living Poecilia mexicana
  • In 1999, Ingo published this paper on a unique orange tumor found in a single P. latipinna male from the San Marcos River in Texas and females preferences for that male. We never imagined we would find another male like this, but in August of 2013 we did:

  • Amber has a new paper with Brian Langerhans titled "Sexual selection paves the road to sexual isolation during ecological speciation" in the journal Evolutionary Ecology Research.
  • Luis and Ingo's paper on male mate choice is now published in PeerJ, a new open-access journal with an innovative business model that makes it much cheaper to publish.
  • A new paper by David Bierbach et al. just came out in the approved version on F1000Research. Check out the paper and also the innovative format of the journal.
  • Hailing from Heidelberg University, Andreas is another visiting student from Germany.
  • Elizabeth Hardy, a Master's student, is joining the lab this semester.
  • Ana from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México is also visiting for a couple of months.
  • Visiting from the University of Potsdam in Germany is Ulrike, a Master's student working on the effects of female choice on female fitness. She will be here for 6 months.
