Giovanna Gismondi is a Lecturer of International Relations at the School of International and Areas Studies. Gismondi received her law degree from the University of Lima (Peru) Faculty of Law in 1994 and received an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from Georgetown Law School in 2001.

Gismondi's teaching career began at the University of Lima Faculty of Law, where as an Assistant Professor she taught International Law from 1993 to 1996. During that time she served as Counselor of the Workshop on International Law and a member of the Editorial Committee of the Public International Law Review. Gismondi practiced Law in Lima, Peru from 1994 to 2000, concentrating on civil litigation and transactions.

Professor Gismondi is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law where she teaches International Trade Law, NAFTA, International Human Rights, War Crimes and Prosecutions and Latin American Legal Systems. She is also a member of the Advisory Board and Editor of the Revista Athina, a Law Journal from the Universidad de Lima School of Law. Professor Gismondi has written a variety of articles on International Law including Space Law. She is currently engaged in research involving Peruvian Indigenous Law.
