Robert H. Cox, B. Phil., Miami University; M.A., Ph.D., Indiana University, 1989. Professor of International and Area Studies and Political Science. Co-Director of the European Union Center at the University of Oklahoma, and Co-Director of a Title VI UISFL Grant from the Department of Education. Author of The Development of the Dutch Welfare State: From Workers' Insurance to Universal Entitlements. Articles have appeared in World Politics, Politics and Society, Journal of Social Policy, Comparative Political Studies, West European Politics, Governance, Publius, and many other academic journals. Current research interests include the politics of welfare retrenchment in western Europe. Recipient of a Fulbright Research/Teaching Fellowship in Denmark for the 1995-96 academic year and a German Marshall Fund Fellowship for the 1997-1998 academic year. In 1999 he was invited to the European Union Visitors Programme. Since 1998 he has served as the Book Review Editor for Governance: An International Journal of Policy and Administration.
