• To make sure that you are on track for graduation and fulfilling all of the major requirements
• To get help choosing classes for future semesters
• To discuss academics or difficulties with campus life
• To get updated on any new program policies or requirements

How often should I meet with an advisor?

You should meet with your advisor at least once a semester to make sure that you are on track for graduation. We also like to touch base with you to make sure you are happy with your progress and to assess your satisfaction with your experiences so far. Many of our IAS students meet with an advisor several times during the semester. It's important to us to keep your advising file as up to date as possible. If you make several changes to your schedule and if you are not sure where certain classes belong on the IAS degree sheet, please contact our office.
