How to transfer to the School of International and Area Studies from another OU College or another University:
* If you are currently enrolled in another OU College, such as Business, and wish to transfer to the School of International and Area Studies complete the "transfer out" process: Go to your current college, request to transfer out and obtain the appropriate paperwork. Bring the paperwork to the International Programs Center Academic Services office (Hester Hall, Room 155), where your record will be reviewed. If you meet the qualifications for your desired major, you may be advised in that new major and can begin the coursework to complete the degree.
** If you are currently studying at another university but you are interested in transferring into the School of International and Area Studies, please consult the Admissions office for information on how to transfer to OU.
Once you have been admitted to OU as a transfer student, make a "transfer student" appointment with the International Programs Center Academic Services office. During this appointment, which will take approximately one hour, your transfer credit hours will be evaluated and you will learn what else will be required to complete your chosen degree. A counselor in the Academic Services office will advise you during your first semester at OU.
