Annual Pitch Competition

Tulsa Competition

Sooner Launch Pad is going to host the first-annual pitch competition in Tulsa on April 11th, 2012. The competition is open to OU-Tulsa students, as well as faculty and community members. Students will be competing for cash prizes of $4,000 while faculty, and community members will be competing in a different division for in-kind prizes to get their business off the ground.

Applications must be emailed to slp@ou.edu by Friday, April 6th at 12pm. For more details, please refer to the rules and guidelines document.

Dates

  • SLP Tulsa Applications Due: Friday, April 6th by 12pm
  • SLP Tulsa Competition: Wednesday, April 11th
  • SLP Tulsa Winners Announced: Thursday, May 3rd

Prizes

For the Student Division:

  • 1st Place - $2,500
  • 2nd Place - $1,000
  • 3rd Place - $500

For the Community Division:

  • Up to $2,000 of in-kind donations (i.e. logo design, printing, mentoring, etc.)

Rules and Guidelines

Eligibility is dependent upon which division you are competing in. Please refer to the official Rules and Guidelines for your division.

Teams must complete the following in order for their application to be considered complete:

  • Participants can present the content in a different order

  • Teams must submit a two to three page executive summary of their business pitch.
    • The summary should present the information provided in the slide deck in a narrative format.
    • Margins are to be no less than 1 inch and text should be no smaller than 12 points
  • Teams must submit the Cover Sheet

  • Any team that does not meet these rules will be disqualified

 

Norman Competition

The competition is open to current OU students from all disciplines and academic levels. In order to compete, teams will need to submit a business pitch slide deck and executive summary to slp@ou.edu. Date and time of submission will be posted here as time nears the Norman competition.

Prizes

The following prizes are available:

  • 1st place - $8,000
  • 2nd place - $5,000
  • 3rd place - $2,500
  • 4th place - $1000
  • 5th place - $500
