G5013 History and Theory of Urban Planning

(Crosslisted with Political Science, Regional and City Planning 5013). Prerequisite: open to seniors in social science departments, civil engineering and architecture, and to graduate students in regional and city planning. An introductory course on the history and theory of contemporary planning, focusing on the physical, social, institutional and economic structure and dynamics of human settlements, and on the role and responsibilities of the professional planner.
