- Dr. Carl is a three time graduate of the University of Oklahoma and is thrilled to teach in the sociology department at his Alma Mater. After years of social work practice he returned to graduate school to complete a Ph.D. in sociology. His diverse background includes work in mental health, prisons, hospitals, churches and a variety of non-profit organizations. While still in graduate school, he was hired to teach sociology at Rose State College where he continues to teach to this day. He remains interested in student learning, and enjoys the interactions he has with students, encouraging them to think sociologically, and expand their horizons.

Dr. Carl’s primary research goal is to finish writing an Introduction to Sociology text book, a task that takes up most of his free time. Besides his involvement with his loving family, he remains interested in throwing pottery, playing music, and gardening. As a person who is always up for some fun, Dr. Carl enjoys hiking, fishing, and his favorite pastime, eating.
