The following is a brief biographical account. I was born in Warsaw, Poland, although my family immigrated to the United States when I was very young. I spent most of my life living in State College, Pennsylvania where I earned my bachelor's degree in sociology at the Pennsylvania State University.

I earned my doctoral degree at the University of North Carolina . As a predoctoral trainee in demography at the Carolina Population Center, I worked with professors Ron Rindfuss and Barbara Entwisle on the Nang Rong, Thailand project. I am currently an assistant professor at OU. My research focuses on migration, social networks, intergenerational relations, and household demography more generally. I also have an interest in quantitative methods.
