JOINT SSW-OUPTCH POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position
Clinical Assistant Professor, Joint faculty position with School of Social Work & OU Physicians Tulsa Community Health
Academic Appointment
This position is a full-time (12 month) faculty position with appointment at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work and OU Physicians Tulsa Community Health. The individual filing this position will work half-time as a clinical assistant professor in the School of Social Work and half time in the OUPTCH health clinics.
Position requirements
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (or can obtain the certification within first year of employment at OU)
- Medical social work experience
- Experience working with MSW students in field practicum
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community health settings, administrative experience and prior teaching experience preferred
- Board Certified Supervisor
Responsibilities
School of Social Work activities (.5 FTE)
- Teaching
- Coordinate, plan and supervise MSW students in medical social work related practicum.
- Teach two courses per year on a topic related to health and social work.
- As the SSW moves forward to explore the development of specialized curriculum tracks, this individual would aid in the creation of a health and mental health concentration.
- Service
- Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for social workers in OUPTCH, including group meetings, conferences, research opportunities, or field instruction development.
- Scholarly activities
- Participation in OUPTCH evaluation and information dissemination efforts.
Clinical Assignments at OUPTCH (.5 FTE)
- Provision of clinical services in OUPTCH
- Participation in the SOCM Faculty Development Institute, the Summer Institute, and the longitudinal clinic.
- Supervision of social work staff in OUPTCH.
- Provision of LCSW supervision for OU affiliated social workers as they work to obtain licensure.
- Participate in rounds, physician training and education related to social work issues.
