DJ Thompson – Youth Program Proposal for Fall 2002. Conducted power point presentation of
proposed program which will be presented to school children in OKC this
fall.
Comments: May
want to change names to Latino names and Latino settings. Warning signs is good information,
concern with word “abuser” – suggest that some other descriptive
information/word be used in order to avoid labeling. Sex w/o Consent is a book that provides
guides for role playing behaviors related to domestic violence – willing to lend
to LCDA. Suggestion that DJ want to
develop a student leadership or advocacy group to assist with coordinating and
presenting program.
Saleem began the second part of the concept mapping by
distributing the identified strength to all participants. Participants were instructed to mark
each sheet with rank of importance, 1-not important and 5 being most
important. Then they were asked to
sort the labels into groups that they identify. Task was not completed, so each
participant placed their labels into an envelop and sealed it. Task to be completed by the next
meeting.
