| Here’s
how to get started:
You will already have been enrolled (through D2L, not officially) in a practicum course. It can be found under “My Permanent
Courses.” (Click on the plus sign next to “my permanent
courses”)
Under “Content,” you will find printable versions of
all practicum forms.
- You will need to create and submit your own resume,
professional statement, performance evaluation, and
job description (if applicable).
Under “Dropbox,” there will be folders for all required
paperwork.
- Submit your paperwork in each folder as designated.
- These folders are confidential—your classmates will
not be able to see what you have posted.
- There is a folder for “Memorandum of Understanding,”
however you will still be required to turn in an original
hard copy of this single document.
The other online applications (Discussion, Chat, Links,
etc) are not currently used. If we see a need for them
throughout the semester, we will adapt. As students,
you are welcome to use them for online collaboration,
but do not ask the Staff Assistant, Practicum Coordinator, or your Faculty Liaison
any questions via this format.
- All due dates and audits listed on your calendar apply.
- You MUST submit documents in PDF or Microsoft Word (.doc) format. NO OTHER FORMATS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- Submit your documents so they are right side up. When you preview your file, be sure it is legible. If it is not legible, it is not considered turned in.
- Only documents turned in through D2L will be included
in your audit.
- You will not be allowed to enroll for the actual
course or start counting hours until
all documentation is turned in.
Ways in which documents can be turned
in:
-
If the document does
not require any signatures (resume, professional
statement, etc), simply upload them in Microsoft
Word or adobe. You never even have to print them
out.
-
If the document requires
you to fill out information and get signatures (placement
form, application, etc) it is recommended that you
type in the information, print it out, and obtain
the signatures. Then, scan the entire document in
and upload it in PDF.
-
If the document is
external (certificate of insurance, job description,
etc), simply scan it and upload it in pdf.
It is still important that you keep copies (electronically
or hard copy is up to you) of all of your documents
for yourself.
If, after this session, you have further
questions, or see something on D2L that could be improved,
please just let the Staff Assistant know. We are happy to help you use
this system, and want to troubleshoot any problems
as soon as possible.
