Description
- Oversee shop and theatre operations
- Establish safety and operational rules and guidelines
- Participate in pre-production planning for scenery and props (feasibility
and cost)
- Work with designers to accomplish goals
- Recommend materials and hardware to designers
- Generate graphic documents used for estimating time and materials
costs
- Generate working drawings
- Direct purchasing; work within budget
- Develop purchasing lists
- Direct scheduling for construction
- Set and announce all extra calls
- Assist scheduling for painting
- Meets completion deadlines as coordinated with other designftech areas
- Oversee the tech/dress rehearsal process
- Assist the choreography of scene shifts
- Plan scenic special effects
- Direct specific approaches to construction
- Direct specific approaches to rigging
- Maintain theatre security
- Plan theatre improvements
- Mediate problems (technical, artistic, personnel)
- Develop workshops for additional training
- Develop approaches for projected workshop funding (ie. welding workshop)
- Oversee the operation of sound area
- Oversee the May rental contracts
- Prep for and teach classes
- Develop and deliver evaluations for classes, shop crew, graduate assistants,etc.
- Develop cirriculum
- Attend unit, college and university meetings
- Assist various college operations
- Conduct theatre tours
- Assist state, local, school and university organizations as a gratis
theatre consultant
