This collection contains materials related to the Tennessee Valley Authority
(TVA) from the original Muscle Shoals controversy of the 1920s through
the construction of the TVA and its work in the 1980s. Historian Richard
N. Lowitt is known for his three- volume biography of George Norris, the
Nebraska representative and senator credited with creating the TVA. For
