December was a short meeting and we didn’t have a quorum. I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and New Year holiday break. I went to Minnesota and proposed to my first love, the first girl I ever kissed, Kari Swalinkavich. She said “yes”.
My daughter Anna and the OU All Girl Cheer Team won the Universal Cheer Association this past weekend. This is the first ever national title for any OU Spirit Team – OU Cheer Squad.
The University of Oklahoma Police Department is celebrating its 50th year of service. I have passed around my badge for everyone to see.
I will be meeting with Vice President Nick Hathaway next week and would like to know what issues the Staff want me to address. I will ask Nick Hathaway to come to a Staff Senate meeting to talk about the financial issues and budget issues the University is facing due to President Boren’s retirement. The Staff Initiatives Committee wanted a special presentation on the Universities budget, they will be invited to attend the Staff Senate meeting with Nick Hathaway.
