ST. ANSELM OF CANTERBURY ENEWS

January 14, 2004

WELCOME BACK. Hope all of you had a great holiday
filled with family and friends. We’ve got a great
Spring semester planned.

BINGO TODAY! JANUARY 14 at 2pm. St. Anselm’s will
call bingo for our friends at WHISPERING PINES on
this date. Meet at St. Anselm’s at 1:30 and carpool,
or we’ll see you there at 2pm.

EPISCOPAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION SOCIAL NIGHT will be
Thursday, January 22 at 8pm. This is an informal
meeting for any students under 30. Bring games, videos
a friend and your own refreshments.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY is Monday, January 19. A
memorial event is planned for the University Community
at 7:30pm in Meacham Auditorium in the OU Union
building. Speakers include Ambassador Edward Perkins
from the OU International and Area Studies Program and
the Rev. Dr. Earl Fluker.

CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP SERIES RESUMES next Monday,
January 19. We will meet at our regular time for a
community dinner (5:30pm). For the next four or five
weeks, we will be discussing the spiritual stewardship
of Creation, including our animal friends, the
environment and our air and water. How does seeing the
environment as a reservoir of commodities line up with
our call to care for God’s earth? Join us for the
dinner and discussion. We’re always done by 7:30.

NEEDED: ST. ANSELM’S MEMBERS TO REPRESENT THIS
MINISTRY at the annual Senior High Conference. This
year, St. John’s in OKC will be hosting. The event
will be Feb. 27, 28. For the past two years, several
student members have represented us at this
conference. Tell the folks we’re here, hand out some
of our informational brochures, tell them about what
we’re doing at St. A’s. You don’t have to stay for the
full conference, just hang out a little. Contact
Michael or Mark if you’re interested and available.

KITCHEN HELP NEEDED. Calling all cooks! Drop Will
Hanner an email and volunteer to cook or clean up
sometime during the spring semester. Dates are
available in January include: Jan. 11, 18 and 25th.
