NOTE FROM HAL
I just wanted to say what a grace
it is to know you all, to feel the
support and committment of this
community, and to see the ways in
which
you love one another. To those of
you leaveing for Break, be well
and
happy, return in safety, and we'll
hope to see you on Palm Sunday evening
at 5:00 PM. If you arrive back later,
then later in the week.
In friendship,
Hal
T-SHIRTS ARE HERE.
The t-shirts have arrived! Please
be sure to come pick yours up
as soon as you can!! The cost is
$9.00 and you can make checks
out to St. Anselm's of Canterbury.

WHISPERING PINES.
The next Whispering Pines visit
will be on Wednesday March 23. Remember
our new time to visit is 3:00pm.
Please come if you can. We need
the help
and it is a lot of fun! The basket
has been pretty empty lately, so
here is a
reminder of what things we can use:
used or new clothing such as
tee shirts, socks, hats, scarves,
etc.; necklaces, bracelets, rings
(no pins
with sharp points, please); sugar
free and regular candy; stuffed
animals. Mainly, they cannot have
things that might be harmful, such
as liquids
(lotions or perfume) or sharp objects.
Come join us- it's a blast!!

HOLY WEEK
While its hard to justify the notion
that one week is any more holy
than another, the church has always
set aside the week of days leading
up
to Easter Sunday as Holy Week. Beginning
with PALM SUNDAY, which this
year is March 20th--the Sunday after
Spring Break--this is the closet
thing the Episcopal Church has to
a revival.
We'll have a 7 PM service MAUNDY
THURSDAY, the 24th, which will include
an opportunity to experience foot
washing. We'll have GOOD FRIDAY
observances at 12:35 PM the 25th,
and EASTER EVE at 8 PM on the 26th.
Easter Eve is the ancient observance
of the church, and includes many
ceremonies unique to that night.
Of course, we'll observe EASTER
DAY with
our customary service Sunday the
27th at 5 PM.
These five services make up the
core observance of Holy Week. Please
join us.
CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP SERIES
We will not gather for Christian
Leadership Series on Monday March
14th during Spring Break and Monday
March 21st during Holy Week. We
will resume our sessions on Monday
March 28th, the day after Easter.
ESA MEETING.
The next ESA meeting is scheduled
for Thursday, March 24th at 9:30pm.
Yes, that's Maundy Thursday, but
we need to gather to discuss some
upcoming events for the students.
We will be finalizing our retreat
plans and scheduling another trip
to Eischen's and much more. Come
and contribute!!
URBAN IMMERSION
The dates for
Urban Immersion have been set: August
1 through 6.
We'll be returning to Austin and
the Seminary of the Southwest for
this powerful experience in action
and reflection on ministry among
the poor and homeless. Save these
dates now.
