++++++++++++++
FROM THE ORGAN BENCH
Many thanks to the choir for the
hard work and beautiful singing
through all of Holy Week. Hal, Tim
and Marlon were excellent
in their chanting during Easter
Vigil, and the choir sang 4 anthems
in 8 days!!! It was even better
than last year's services, and I
do so
appreciate each person's dedication.
Now the hard part. I have decided
to retire as organist/ choirmaster
at St. Anselm's, effective May 15th.
It has been a privilege to work
with the staff, choir, students,
and members of St. Anselm's. The
choir has been a very special joy
for me. They have taught me a
great deal about love, laughter,
commitment, support, and how to
teach choral music more effectively.
I have appreciated the support
of the entire St. Anselm's community
for the past 22 months and wish
the very best to everyone. I shall
never forget my time here.
Choir rehearsals will continue on
Sunday at 4pm (EXCEPT April 3rd)
and Mondays at 8pm through Sunday,
May 8th, which is the last
service for which the choir sings.
See you Sunday,
Suzy :)
MESSAGE FROM HAL.
On behalf of Kay, Tess, Owen and
the community, I want to say how
much we have appreciated Suzy's
amazing gifts as an organist and
as choir director. We will miss
her wonderful music, and hope she
will be a frequesnt visitor to Canterbury.

WHISPERING PINES BASKET - MILTON
FUND
Since we have only two more Wednesdays
at Whispering Pines
this semester (April 6th and April
20th), we will no longer have the
large basket out on Sundays. We
have plenty already collected for
prizes for two more times. Instead
we would like to direct your attention
to the Milton Fund, which is the
fund to pay the tuition for our
adopted
student in school in Uganda. The
fund (big bottle in the dining room)
has collected only about half of
the $300 it takes to support Milton
in
school for a year. Please dig under
your chair cushions or in your pockets
or wherever you might find some
extra change and try to bring the
fund up
to its goal. Kay
VOOM SUNDAY - APRIL 10
Every Church in Oklahoma is encouraged
to have a VOOM
(Volunteer Oklahoma Outreach Mission)
Sunday, when we
celebrate our companion relationship
with the diocese of West
Ankoli in Uganda and our companion
church there. We will
remember our brothers and sisters
in Uganda in prayer, music
and word on April 10th, and the
loose plate offering will be added
to the Milton Fund. Kay
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME CHANGE
Don't forget
that Saturday night you need to
set your clocks forward
one hour and lose an hour of sleep!
ESA NEWS
We have set a date for the retreat.
It will be April 23rd, which is
a Sat.
We will be back Sunday in time for
church. We have a couple of
options-- Hugh Long has offered
us his cabin at Lake Tenkiller or
we could go to Roman Oh's. I need
to know what you all want to do
so I can make plans asap... otherwise
it will all fizzle.
CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP SERIES
We'll have Christian Leadership
this next Monday with a
light dinner at 6 PM and the gathering
upstairs at 7 PM followed by
choir at 8.
T-SHIRTS ARE HERE.
The t-shirts have arrived! Please
be sure to come pick yours up
as soon as you can!! The cost is
$9.00 and you can make checks
out to St. Anselm's of Canterbury.

URBAN IMMERSION EVENT IN AUSTIN
Urban Immersion
will take place from July 31 (travel
day) through
August 6th (travel back) at the
Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest
in
Austin.
If you think
you want to go and want your name
on the list, send it
back to us now. We can take a total
of 12 people. So we need to know
if
you're planning on going.
We'll spend five
days in Austin in hands-on ministry
among the poor and
dispossessed as well as sessions
designed to help us understand the
systemic issues and causes of poverty
and prejudice.We'll worship together
daily and have time for Austin's
delights as well.
We're seeking
grants at this time, so the cost
to participants will be
modest.
Again, let us
know now if you plan to come.
