NEWS
BINGO next WEDNESDAY.
St. Anselm’s will host bingo next
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5th at 2pm at Whispering
Pines. Join your friends at Canterbury
around 1:30pm to carpool or meet
at the nursing home at 1:45. This
is the principal outreach ministry
of our community and we could use
your help. It’s fun and it brings
joy to the residents of Whispering
Pines and to volunteer participants
as well.
ADVISORY BOARD
MET. The Advisory Board of St. Anselm’s
held its spring semester meeting
Sunday, April 25, immediately following
the Eucharist. Numerous members
of the community were also present.
After oral reports from staff, a
review of the inclusive language
rite utilized during Epiphany was
had. As a result of the discussion
on liturgy, St. Anselm will begin
to make seasonal use of not only
an inclusive language rite, but
also a Rite one liturgy. Plans to
enhance our relationship with Whispering
Pines with a Bible study were discussed
and to provide more opportunities
for members of St. Anselm’s to exercise
service to the larger community.
Plans for a proposed expansion of
the St. Anselm’s building were discussed.
The plans are just now in the sketch
stage and a substantial effort will
need to be made to raise funding
for any approved expansion.
DEAD WEEK LUNCHES
THIS WEEK. St. Anselm’s staff will
host dead week lunches from 11am-1pm
every day this week. Take some time
out of your study schedule to enjoy
a healthy lunch and some light conversation
with your friends at Canterbury.
The lunches are free. Bring a friend
and introduce them to our community.
