KISSING DON’T LAST: COOKERY DO! George Meredith makes
a dramatic point about the importance of food. Meals
are important. And eating together even more so. Will
and Kate seem to be having difficulty in getting
volunteers to sign up to cook our Sunday meals.
Finding clean-up crews is an easier task! We’ve got
this down to a science folks. It’s easy. No shopping.
The recipes are easy. Step by step instructions line
everything out. Grab a friend. Respond RIGHT NOW to
this email and tell Kate or Will you’ll help out.
Thanks. Will: hanner@ou.edu or Kate:
kecarney@hotmail.com (We won’t eat without you!)

FIRST BINGO CALLED LAST WEDNESDAY. Seven members of
the St. Anselm community called bingo at Whispering
Pines last Wednesday. It was like a homecoming! We
called two games and gave away around thirty prizes.
The next Bingo will be on Wednesday, September 29th.
This is the third year we have participated in this
ministry which is a joint effort between the community
events staff at Whispering Pines and the St. Anselm’s
service/ministry team. Meet your friends at St.
Anselm’s around 1:45 and carpool to the nursing home.
Bingo begins at 2pm and is concluded by around 3pm.
Canterbury collects bingo prizes throughout the year
to be awarded at the event which is scheduled every
other Wednesday during the fall and spring terms.

BRING A T-SHIRT. COMMUNITY GOAL = 50 SHIRTS. Nothing
is more popular than good, fun T-shirts as bingo
prizes at Whispering Pines. The resident’s love them!
Help us stock up on T-shirts. Go to your closet or
chest of drawers right now and pick out a good, clean,
Large or XL T-shirt. Drop it off in the big basket
under the votive stand right by the front door at
Canterbury. I bet we can get fifty shirts in seven
days if we put our minds to it! It’s a good cause. If
you’re like me, you can barely get that t-shirt drawer
closed anyway. If you don’t wear Large or XL, go to a
friend and get one. Fifty shirts in seven days!

CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP SERIES STUDIES “HUMAN LABOR.”
Tonight, the Christian Leadership Series will discuss
“migrant labor”. The film is a PBS documentary hosted
by Bill Moyers. Join us. Mondays at 6:15pm. (a free
community dinner is open to all at 5:30pm).

STUDENT ASSOCIATION MEETING. The ESA will have a
social/ meeting on this Thursday at 8:30 pm here at
Canterbury. We will be mostly just hanging out. If
you want to bring your favorite movie, we can all pick
which one we want to watch or we can play a card
game... just whatever. There are also some things I
would like to propose to the group that people have
suggested to me. So please come... bring a friend and
we'll all just have a blast!!

ESA UPCOMING EVENTS. This next Sunday, the ESA has a
frisbee golf afternoon scheduled from noon to 3pm.
Check your calendars and make room for an afternoon of
fun! On Friday, October 1st, we are scheduled to go
to Eischens. The time is yet to be set. I know there
is a Ben Folds concert that night that a lot of people
are going to attend. However, there were still a
significant amount of people who wanted to go to
Eischens, so we are still going to go and just
schedule another time this semester that better fits
most people's activity schedules. So if you aren't
going to Ben Folds, join us for an evening of fun at
Oklahoma's oldest bar for fried chicken and okra!!!

LAYREADERS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Liturgical ministry abounds at St. Anselm’s. If you
are interested in reading the lessons during the
worship service or would like to administer the
chalice at the time of communion, contact Deacon Kay
Greenshields by responding to this email.
