Delta Chapter - Tau Beta Sigma

Projects

Service

The Delta Chapter has taken on many new service projects for both the band and community in the last few years.

For the band we:

hand out keys on trips, help with lunches, sell cokes and candy on the away trips, hand out water on game day, hand out plumes on game day, have a work day in the summer to get ready for the fall semester, and decorate for the band banquet in the spring.

For the community we:

sponsor a blood drive once a semester, knit scarves for a local women's shelter, plan a canned food drive during the fall semester, take part in the Big Event (a campus wide day of community service), played at a children's hospital in OKC, took part in Race for the Cure, and take part in Shack-a-Thon for Habitat for Humanity

Fundraising

Each fall we plan a T-shirt for The Pride to sell. We also offer "glassware" with The Pride logo on it to the members of the band. For the first time this year we sold athletic shorts with the OU logo and Pride written on one of the legs. On the away trips for the band we sell cokes and candy on each bus.

Each semester we sign up for ushering for the School of Music.

Every fall we have a pep band for the volleyball band. We have also done pep bands for the gymnastics, baseball, and wrestling teams.

In the past we have sold Krispy Kreme cards, had local restaurants donate proceeds to our chapter.

Social

In the fall we have a BBQ with the Phi Mu Alpha chapter at OU.

During the first week of pre camp for marching band we sponsor a get to know you party and also a pool party with the OU KKY chapter. We ask local businesses to donate food and other items needed for the event.

We have had a Christmas party in the past for our chapter.
