Dear Delta Kappa Brothers:
We would like to welcome you all to the new online Tau Lodge. Our primary objective in creating this page was to keep in better contact with you the alumni. Whether you now live in Norman, or Alaska, all you now need to keep in touch with us at ATO is a connection to the Internet.
Fall '98
Leadership Consultant Cameron Balls's visit in
September sparked some major changes in the house. Many house positions
were split into several new positions, getting more members involved in
house decisions and lightening the workload of house leaders. The chapter
now uses parliamentary procedure for all chapter meetings, along with holding
Formal
Chapter Meetings once a month. We dusted off the chapter By-Laws,
which hadn't been looked at, much less followed, in years, and began implementing
many of the policies they detail. It is our hope that these changes will
help instill the pride and respect for ATO that built this place, and that
unfortunately had been missing for so long.
In November, the house
hosted an Alumni Reunion on OU's Dad's Day. Thanks to all of you who rolled
out, and thanks to Brother Don McMullan for setting it up. The event was
a success, and another big step in keeping our alumni involved in the house.
Many brothers from McMullan's era were present, and everybody had a good
time. AND OU EVEN WON!!!
Spring '98
Congratulations to Brother Brad McMullan! Brad was elected UOSA (University
of Oklahoma Student Association) President. We are now proud to call
OU's student body president our brother. Everyone in the house worked
hard on the campaign and it feels good to have the whole ordeal over with.
Furthermore, at this year's Greek awards ATO Delta Kappa won the Most
Improved Chapter award from the Inter-Fraternity Council. The
house also won first place in this year's Arts Classic Run.
Last semester our house placed 6th out of 22 houses in grades. Brothers Olson, MacElvany, Parks, and Lowe all turned in perfect 4.0 GPA's for the semester.
Thanks to all of you who rolled out for the first annual ATO Alumni Pool Tournament. About 30 alumni and 40 actives competed in the tournament. A special thanks to brother Mike Intrieri who planned the whole thing, and brother Todd Martin who helped us by personally contacting many of his pledge brothers.
If you have any more questions, or would like a more direct line of communication with us you can email or call any of our officers listed on that link.
