Love, Labor, Learning, and Loyalty,
Gamma Phi Beta means so much to me...

Gamma Phi Beta was founded at Syracuse University on November 11, 1874 by Helen M. Dodge, Frances E. Haven, E. Adeline Curtis, and Mary A. Bingham. The term "sorority" was coined for Gamma Phi Beta and Gamma Phi Beta remains the "first and only true sorority." The objective of our sorority is to "promote the highest type of womanhood through education, social life, and service to country and humanity." There are over 120 Gamma Phi chapters nationwide as well as several chapters in Canada. The International Philanthropy of Gamma Phi Beta is Camp Sechelt, a camp for underprivileged girls. Our creed is love, labor, learning, and loyalty. Gamma Phis strive for these ideals in all things.
