Meet the Staff
Rabbi Jeremy Cassius, Hillel Executive Director
![]() Shalom, Oklahoma! Please allow me this opportunity to introduce myself before I have the chance to meet you personally.
My name is Jeremy Cassius and I am the Executive Director of the Hillel Foundation at the University of Oklahoma.
I moved here 2 years ago from Cleveland with my wife Aliza and
our daughters Chaya Sara (5), Miriam (3), and our new son Yossi
(2 months). My family and I are excited about the opportunity to work with a wonderful group of students, lay leaders and faculty in Norman and the
greater Oklahoma area.
After graduating from the University of Missouri in Columbia, I worked for Hillel at Kent State and then at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH, for a total of four previous years of Hillel experience. While at Kent I received my master's degree in professional counseling, managing to work in a rewarding year in Israel at the same time. Most recently I earned an independent rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Ephraim Greenblatt in my home town of Memphis, TN.

I'm Lena Frost and I have
been the Administrative Assistant for Hillel for the past
three years. It has been great working here and I have
learned a lot.
I grew up in Ponca City and
received a B.A. from OU and an M.A. from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I met my husband from
Hobart, OK. We have two children--Jeremy, who lives in
Derry, NH and is employed by Control4 and Lydia, a Senior in
Interior Design at OU. We lived in Tuscaloosa, AL for 27
years and came back to Norman to "semi-retire." It is a
real treat for us to be able to go to OU football and men's
and women's basketball games again.
I've enjoyed needlework of
various types since childhood and became an avid quilter
about 19 years ago. I'm active in both the Norman and
Central Oklahoma Quilters Guilds. When I'm not cooking or
spoiling our toy poodle, Missy, I'm usually found with a
needle in hand, enjoying my hobby.
