2. Kirkpatrick Science and Air Space Museum at Omniplex

4. Indian City (Anadarko, OK)
Take a tour of the seven replicas of Indian villages in Indian City. Tours take approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Indian guides share information passed down to them by ancestors about the villages and details of their customs and beliefs.

This 110-acre zoo is often called a living museum. One of the ten best zoos in the United States, the Oklahoma City Zoo is home to more than 2,800 animals. Some featured exhibits include Cat Forest/Lion Overlook, which comprises of lions, tigers, jaguars and leopards, and Great EscApe that showcases gorillas, orangutans and chimpanzees. One of the zoo's most popular attractions is Aquaticus, which features aquariums, and shows by a dolphin and sea lions. The zoo offers nature classes, labs, tours and Zoomobiles for all ages. You can end the day with a show under the stars at the amphitheater.

4. Six Flags Over Texas(Dallas, Texas)
Often referred to as "The Entertainment Capital of Texas," Six Flags offers 200 acres of rides, shows and attractions. For 38 years, this family amusement park has delighted Texans and others from around the world. Ride the 109-foot-tall "Batman the Ride," which travels up to 50 miles per hour and watch stuntmen perform as Wild West gunslingers in an action-filled street shootout. General Admission: $39.99 for adults. Rates vary during the winter months. Parking is $8 per car. The park is usually closed between early January and early March, reopens daily for two weeks in March and then opens on weekends until the area schools let out in late May. Phone ahead or visit the website to check on any schedule changes. Timings vary widely by month and season.

1. Hefner Lake & Park
Lake Hefner in central Oklahoma is located in northwest Oklahoma City. Lake Hefner has 18 miles of shoreline and 2,500 surface acres. Lake Hefner has a 10 mile bicycle paved trail that circles the lake. Lake Hefner is a premier sailing spot, and also provides for great kite surfing and wind surfing. There are several restaurants on the west side of the lake overlooking the water.

Lake Thunderbird in central Oklahoma is located just east of Norman. Lake Thunderbird has miles of shoreline and 6,070 surface acres. Lake Thunderbird, which is close to the Oklahoma City metro area, provides a great spot for hiking, camping, fishing, and water sports.

3. Arcadia Lake
It is in central Oklahoma is located on the east side of Edmond. Arcadia Lake has 26 miles of shoreline and 1,820 surface acres. Arcada Lake has it all, campgrounds, disc golf, and trails for everyone. Arcadia Lake surrounded by woodlands is home to a variety of wildlife. The fishing is great, and there is a heated enclosed fishing dock at the 15th street entrance.

4. Eufaula Lake
Located in Eufala, OK, and is Northeast of Oklahoma City. This is Oklahoma's largest lake and is the 15th largest lake in the United States. Lake Eufaula has many parks, campgrounds, and marinas located around the lake. Lake Eufaula is also know for producing large fish.

5. Lake Murray
It is located just a few miles south of Ardmore, Oklahoma, close to the southern OK-Texas border. Lake Murray has 67 miles of shoreline and 5700 acres that are spring fed. It is one of the clearest lakes in Oklahoma. The fishing at Lake Murray is excellent and is known for great smallmouth bass fishing. It is also a great lake for scuba diving, water skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, and more! Be sure and check out the great views from Tucker Tower.

7. Lake Tenkiller
This lake is in eastern Oklahoma and is located northwest of Gore. Lake Tenkiller has 130 miles of shoreline and 12,900 surface acres. Lake Tenkiller is one of a handful of clear water lakes in Oklahoma, which makes it one of the best spots in the state for scuba diving. This scenic lake has excellent bass fishing, water sports, rocky banks and rolling hills. Below the Tenkiller dam you will find trout and striper fishing in the lower Illinois River.

2. Myriad Botanical Gardens
Visit these beautiful gardens in downtown OKC at Reno and Robinson. Inside the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory, you will see plants from around the world. See the butterflies and the lizards as well. Take a walk on the Adventure Trail. The trail winds under a 35-foot waterfall and up a vine-covered mountain.
