Bangladesh is a small country located in Southern Asia. It is bordered by largely India, then Burma and the Bay of Bengal. Its national language is Bengali or Bangla. Bangladesh became independent following the victory at the War of Liberation with Pakistan in 1971. Bangladesh has a rich and varied cultural heritage and is well known for its folk music, poetry and paintings.
