Rachel Savant was elected Queen in the spring of '03 because of her incredible spirit and love towards the University of Oklahoma. She beat out a large number of also highly qualified young ladies who tried out for Queen. If our tryouts were any indication, we can look forward to great things from all of the Ladies at the University. Rachel is a Public Relations Major and with her outgoing nature and incredible personality that fits her major perfectly. It was these personality traits that helped Rachel earn Oklahoma City's Volunteer of the Year. Rachel is a member of the Savant Clan and you can't miss her Mother, Gwen, at any of the home football games because she will be the women taking lots of pictures and wearing her "RUF/NEK Queen's Mom" shirt. Rachel with her brother, Jordan, was born and raised in Dallas. Rachel is 22 years old and enjoys photography, attending concerts, and traveling to just about anywhere. She is a certified Scuba Diver which doesn't really come in handy much in this part of the country but is really cool nonetheless. She loves listening to her favorite song, "Lady In Red" by Chris DeBergh and she also loves Willie Nelson, Pat Green, and Texas Country. Her favorite movie is "When Harry Met Sally." Rachel is well known for becoming misty eyed whenever the crowd starts their Boomer Sooner Chants, saying "It's amazing to see 85,000 people all focused on one thing." Her favorite player is Tommie Harris, whom she has a secret crush on. The members refer to her affectionately as the Crimson Queen.
