Racing Team News
General News:
Sailing team is for inter-college competitions. Therefore, you must be an undergraduate student to participate in the races.
1. We will probably go to competitions at least once a month in this spring season.
2. To do better in the races, we have more practices than the club does and the practices will be on Thursdays @ 3, Saturdays @ 1, and sometimes we will have practices on Sunday afternoon with OSU. Before competitions, we may have extra practices.
3. Anyone can join the racing team. Don't feel like you cannot be in the team because you don't have any experience. Like Aaron, he just started sailing, but he already went to a big regatta in Chicago with us. We will teach you how to sail from the basics.
4. If you have any quesions about the racing team, e-mail Mizu.
Recent News:
2.15.05: Last weekend, Jaci, Andrew, Anna, and I went to Galveston TX to participate in a regatta hosted by Texas A &M University at Galveston. We've not had any practices and it was our first cometition in this season. However, we were able to get 4th place out of 8 universities. I'm thinking that we could've done better if we had time to practice beforehand. So, we're going to start practicing from this coming Saturday for an upcoming regatta in Dallas.
5.18.05: SEISA recently announced awards. OU received the most improved team award. In addition, Mizu received the sportsmanship award. Congratulations team!!!
