Nudes Against the WTO
(AP)

Cancun, Mexico – September 9th: Activists marched in the streets of Cancun and stripped off their clothes on beaches made famous by drunken American college students as an attempt to cancel a meeting of the World Trade Organization. Anti-globalization activists, farmers and labor rights promoters planned a week of protests, saying increased international trade can also increase poverty, encourage mistreatment of workers and the environment and diminish cultural diversity. Organizers said they hoped some 15,000 protesters would participate in the week of action against the WTO, and although they wish to shut down the talks they have pledged to avoid violence. On the beach, the nudes lay down on the sand and spelled out ‘No A La OMC’ – ‘No to the WTO’.
