Toner cartridges, rechargeable batteries, pallets and metals are also accepted but these items require special coordination. Toner cartirdges can be sent to recycling through Central Mail. Rechargeable batteries should be boxed up, labeled "Rechargeable Battery" and dropped in a paper recycling container. Call 325-8068 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate for pallets or metals. It is the intent to respond to calls and emails regarding recycling inquiries within 5 business days.
Please note, files can be shredded and recycled upon request. Locked toters are available to ensure materials are secure at all times.

Recycling Containers Available
To order office recycling containers, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll need the department name, building, phone number, and desired container size. As resources permit, these are available at no additional cost to your department.
When requesting recycling containers for your office or department, please reference the labeled photos below for container size and type. We provide all E&G buildings with additional containers, at no cost, as available.
Classified Files Tote - Container 007
This tote is the most secure recycling container offered. It is equipped with a lock which only Refuse and Recycling holds a key. Once a file is placed in this container, it cannot be retrieved. All files in these containers are immediately shredded upon arrival to the compound.
96 and 32 Gallon Locking Toter
The 96 and 32-gallon toters are available upon request and come fully equipped with a lock on the top to ensure security. These containers are emptied by custodial staff, then documents are taken to the Refuse and Recycling compound, at which point the documents are shredded and recycled.
These containers can be found in high traffic areas such as the Oklahoma Memorial Union and first floors of residence halls. They offer pre-sorted categories for paper, plastic, newspaper and aluminum.
