About SWSS SWSS (say "swiss") supports feminist scholarship and feminist activism at the University of Oklahoma and in our surrounding community, through consciousness-raising activities and events, and by promoting OU’s Women’s Studies Program. Each year, we participate in several national action days, like Love Your Body Day and National Young Women’s Day of Action. We bring speakers like Susan Faludi and Rebecca Walker to campus. We're bringing Leslie Feinberg in March. Last Valentine’s Day, over 400 students and faculty attended our annual benefit performance of Eve Ensler’s award-winning play, The Vagina Monologues. We work hard, but it’s not all business! We also plan social events, like parties and camping trips. Everyone who is concerned with women’s and gender issues is welcome to participate in SWSS meetings and events. |
