Walter J. Evans, Chief of Police
Chief Walter J. Evans has a passion for community service. He served 23 years in the active and reserve components of the U.S. Army and has served on numerous local boards and commissions.
After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired from the Tulsa Police Department at the rank of Major (Division Commander).
Chief Evans is the first Chief of Police for the OU-Tulsa Police Department. As the OU-Tulsa Chief of Police, Walter J. Evans continues to ensure safety and security needs are met for everyone within the University community.
