The CSA exists to assist students with college success. They specialize in study techniques, motivation and equipping students with the skills they need to succeed. Students will be able to discuss career choices, class schedules, study methods, or anything else that can assist them in thriving at OU. The professional staff will counsel students on how to stay on the right path to academic success. In addition, CSA coordinates a course called Strategies for Success for University College students on academic probation or notice. The course is designed to help students turn their grade points averages around and help them begin to focus on success in the classroom. Click here for more information about the CSA.
Our mission is to assist students in making a successful transition from high school to university learning. We provide academic courses that help students develop the ability to engage in higher-level academic thinking, access resources available at a research university, cultivate vital life skills, and gain knowledge of the traditions and campus life culture at the University of Oklahoma. |
Making the transition from high school to college is always challenging and sometimes difficult. Freshman students must adjust to new intellectual standards, find new social relationships, and make appropriate decisions about significant events, often for the first time in their lives. Perhaps the biggest challenge of all is finding the necessary support to help understand and respond to these changes. The Department of Freshman Programs exists to help with this transition.
