UC Action Appointments are free, course specific academic assistance sessions offered by the Assessment and Learning Center by appointment only.  They supplement our normal, walk-in sessions and are available in person (at the Housing Learning Center or Wagner Hall 245) or sometimes online.

UC Action Appointments are available during the Fall and Spring semesters, usually around the 3rd or 4th week of classes. Just as our regular sessions, these are not available on University/Student Holidays and during summer. The subjects and times of availability are completely up to our Peer Learning Assistants, but locations will always be at Wagner Hall (1005 Asp Avenue, east of Price Business College) or the Housing Learning Center (Adams Center, Muldrow Tower, room 105). See some detailed instructions below, and email us with any questions or comments. We hope you find this free service useful!

    In-Person sessions
    1. If a spot is available (between 36 hours and 21 days in advance), the Office Assistant will ask for your OU ID# or to see your OU ID card to book the appointment. Sessions are in 30-minute blocks, but you can sign up for more than one. These sessions are for 2-6 clients, so have your friends or classmates sign up as well!
    2. The system will email you the confirmation with date/time/location information, then it will email a reminder the day before the appointment.
    3. Show up to the appointment ready to learn, ready to work with others, and with your questions. Sign in at the front desk, and get to work!
    4. If for any reason you need to cancel, call or go by one of our offices and let the Office Assistant know the date/time and your OU ID#. You should receive a cancellation email. If you cancel too close to the appointment time more than once, your privileges may be revoked.

    1. Before you meet with your tutor online, you MUST REGISTER to use the Adobe Connect online environment (the place online where our tutoring happens). You MUST register with your ou.edu email address, so we can be assured you aren't from outside the University. You only have to do this ONE time, then you'll be in the system to make future online appointments more quickly.
    2. Once you're registered, sign up for a specific 30-minute appointment by giving your OU ID# to the Office Assistant. (You may sign up for more than one 30-minute block of time.)
    3. The system will email you the confirmation with date/time/website information, then it will email a reminder the day before the appointment.
    4. Login to the website given in the email reminder, using your ou.edu email address and password you used to register. For some tips on getting ready for the session (equipment, what to expect, etc. see this TIP SHEET).
    5. If for any reason you need to cancel, call or go by one of our offices and let the Office Assistant know the date/time and your OU ID#. You should receive a cancellation email. If you cancel too close to the appointment time more than once, your privileges may be revoked.
